♡ SUMMER: The fun and baking adventure ♡

Hello my lovelies! So, this summer has been pretty interesting. I know that you haven’t heard from me in a long time and  I’m sorry about that. It’s just that I got a little too into the whole “Summer vacation experience,” and I got lazy. Yes it happened and I dearly apologize for that. But even though I didn’t write on here doesn’t mean I didn’t bake. So lets start off with the picture above. I made these Pumpkin Whoopie Pies today to celebrate that fall is indeed coming. The bad side of this is that it means school is starting! And this year I am going to be in High school! Anyways, the recipe for these delicious concoctions is here.

So, while I was on vacation, I went to visit my dad in Florida. It was so cool because they took me to the Ritz-Carlton and I got to have a tour of the pastry kitchen! An amazing pastry Chef named Whitney took me around where I got to see how the deserts are made. I also got a bag of their chocolate chip cookies with the recipe on the bag, so I am hoping to try that recipe out soon. The picture to the right
is of me helping make a cake! It was awesome and made me realize that pastry arts is something I really want to do in my life.

Thank you Whitney and the Ritz-Carlton for an amazing experience!

Since my dad is in the Navy and lives in Florida, I didn’t get to see him for his 40th birthday. And my dad had never tasted any of my cakes so I made him one when I went to visit. The picture in the left is the picture of the cake I made him. It was my vanilla cake recipe with chocolate melted on top and chocolate crumbs over the melted chocolate. It was a little harder to make because I didn’t have all of my baking supplies so I had to use regular butter knives instead of a spatula to smooth the frosting on the cake. But overall, everyone loved it so that’s all that matters 🙂 The recipe for this Vanilla Cake is here.

I also made a cake for my friends Birthday. It was a little vanilla cakelet with chocolate drizzled on top. So I decided to do something new while making this cake. I wanted to make a video of the cake-decorating process. The video came out pretty cool and hopefully my friend enjoyed the cake! I might even make more videos like this when I decorate more cakes…..

All in all, I had a pretty good summer. I did read probably 5-9 books because I had ran out of any ideas to fill the time, but I love reading. I will be putting up more recipes, and this time I promise! Well, I will inform you on how my first day of school went soon and until then, have a great day 🙂
