Pumpkin Scones with Spiced Glaze

I’ve never made scones before and I really wanted to try them. So, I decided to make Pumpkin Scones because it is October. When I tried them, they came out AMAZING!!! I espeacially love the spiced glaze because it had a hint of sweetness. It is alo simpler than I had expected and they don’t take too long in the oven. I am DEFINETLY going to make these again! My recipe was inspired by Brown Eyed Baker, but I did change a few things in the recipe and I’m glad I did :). Tomorrow, my mom is taking them to her school for the teachers to try them! Well, heres the recipe:

Yield- 8 medium-sized scones

2 cups of all-purpose flour
1/2 cup of granulated sugar
1 tablespoon of baking soda
1/4 teaspoon of salt
3/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger
1/2 cup of pumpkin puree
1/4 cup of butter
2 tablspoons of heavy cream
1 large egg

Spiced Glaze-
1 cup of confectioners’ sugar
2-3 tablespoons of heavy cream
1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice
1/8 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon of ground ginger

1. In a large bowl, mix together the butter, pumpkin puree, heavy cream, and egg together. Then, mix in the dry ingredients untill the dough is thick and sticky.
2. On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough and roll it into a circle that is about 1/4-1/2 inch thick.
3. Using a pizza cutter, slice the dough so that there are 8 equal triangles.

4. Pre-Heat the oven to 425 degrees. Place the triangles on parchment paper over a large cookie sheet and bake them for 13 minutes.

5. Making the Spiced Glaze-  While the scones are baking, in a medium bowl, using an electric mixer, mix together the confectioners’ sugar, heacy cream, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg, and ginger. Keep mixing it untill the frosting has a thick, and creamy consistency.

6. Once the scones have finished baking, place them on a cooling rack. Put parchment paper on the bottom of the cooling rack and quickly spread the glaze over the scones. After the scones have cooled, ENJOY!!!! :)))
